As a production coordinator at the Sharjah Art Foundation, I oversaw the installation and space preparation for the Farideh Lashai retrospective in the Sharjah heritage house 'Bait Al Serkal'. An artist whose work spans the mediums of painting, installations, sculptures, and video projections, my objective was to create an environment (out of a sensitive venue) in which her works could be showcased without discrediting a single one of them.

The 'Bait Al Serkal', a courtyard house, could not accommodate such a large installation as her work 'Tyranny of Autumn', and so it was housed in a custom-built space in the open courtyard that simultaneously did not diminish the house's architectural character or outdoor space. The installation had to be worked by the SAF production team in terms of material, structure, and assembly, especially as there were no instructions other than the images from the only time the work was exhibited over a decade earlier.

Some of my responsibilities included creating simulations of the artworks and coordinating with the curator to arrange them in specific orders and groupings. Space preparation also included cladding walls to hang artwork, building plinths and vitrines, and arranging for  electronic equipment such as projectors to be put in their specific places.
